Yes , the pearl means treasure, money, and someone's life. So in the beginning
there was no real meaning but after the scorpion bite Coyotito, Kino needed money
for a check up with the doctor, and Kino was a pearl hunter. So Kino went hunting
for a pearl and he found the pearl of the world, the biggest, and prettiest, and worth
a lot of money and that money could save Coyotito's life.
